About This Project
The Stevensons contract included the restoration and repair works throughout the building and in particular the repair and partial replacement of the magnificent ceiling in the Bryce Hall. The Bryce Hall is a large open space the full height of the building and the ceiling is heavily enriched.
Previous use of this space had resulted in the hall having floors introduced with partition walls up to the ceiling which damaged, disrupted and in some areas destroyed the elaborate plasterwork above.
Stevensons surveyed the whole ceiling, identified and secured any doubtful areas, undertook in-situ repair work, manufactured and installed replacement elements where appropriate amounting to approximately one third of the ceiling area and left the whole ensemble in excellent order and restored to former glory.
